22 geçmiş zaman kipinde past tense satışların tüm geliri okul için harcanıyordu. Cumhuriyet Dönemi boyunca sürekli olarak ve her yönüyle gelişen okul bugüne dek birçok ünlü ismi mezun etti. Bugün ise, en son taşındığı ve uzun yıllar boyunca kaldığı Tophane semtinin adını ve geçmişin anılarını yarınlara taşıyor: Tophane Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi… Kız Lisesi Amerikalı Protestan misyonerler, 1876’da, Muradiye’de bir kız koleji açtılar. Önce yalnızca gayrimüslim öğrencilere eğitim veren okul zamanla Türk öğrencileri de almaya başladı. Okul, bazı söylentilere göre; 1927’nin son aylarında 4 öğrencinin Hristiyanlaştırılması olayı ortaya çıkınca kapatıldı. 1928’de ise okul, Atatürk’ün isteği üzerine Türk Maarif Cemiyeti tarafından satın alındı ve “Bursa Kız Lisesi” açıldı. 1940’lı yılların ortalarına kadar Muradiye’deki yerinde hizmet veren okul, bu tarihlerde bugünkü yerine taşındı. Atatürk’ün manevi kızı Prof. Dr. Afet İnan’dan Burcu Kara’ya, Safiye Ayla’dan Nur Sürer’e birçok ünlü isim bu okuldan mezun oldu. Okulun eski mezunları, 1986’dan beri düzenlenen ve zaman içinde geleneksel hale gelen mantı gününde bir araya geliyor. Erkek Lisesi Reşat Nuri Güntekin, Orhan Şaik Gökyay, Kazım Baykal, Ziya Samar, Süleyman Nazif gibi ünlü isimlerin eğitim verdiği; bilim, sanat, politika ve sosyal hayatta başarılar kazanmış isimlerin yetiştiği bir okul burası… Sait Faik Abasıyanık’ın, öğrenciyken ilk hikâyesini yazdığı yer. 1883’te, Bursa Mekteb-i Sultanisi adıyla açılan, 1886’da bugünkü binanın temeli atılan tarihi bir değer… Yunan işgali sırasında bir kısmı hastane olarak kullanılan; Atatürk’ün “Bursa Sultanisi’nde geçirdiğimiz saatlerin çok kıymetli hatırası ile daima memnun olacağım” satırlarını şeref defterinde taşıyan bir okul. The school also had a band which is told to be the best among all schools at those times. The citizens of Bursa supported this school and its development and even opened a shop for the school on Cumhuriyet Street in 1906. All the earnings were spent on the school. The school that continued developing throughout the Republican era had many alumni who are famous today. And today, it carries the name of its homeland Tophane and its memories to the future: Tophane Professional and Technical Anatolian High School… Girl’s High School American Protestant Missioners founded a girls college in Muradiye in 1876. At first, it was only accepting non-Muslim students but later started to accept Turkish students as well. Rumors had it that the school was closed following the Christianization of 4 of its students in 1927. In 1928, it was bought by the Turkish Education Society on Atatürk’s will and “Bursa Girls College” was founded. Located in Muradiye until the mid 1940’s, it was moved to its current location during those times. Many people such as Atatürk’s stand-in daughter Prof. Dr. Afet İnan, Burca Kaya, Safiye Ayla and Nu Sürer have also graduated from this school.
