Örneğin Osmanlı’nın ilk hastanesi, 1390-1394 yılları arasında yapılan Yıldırım Darüşşifası, Anadolu’da kurulan ilk sağlık tesisi olma özelliği taşıyor. Bizans’tan Osmanlı’ya kadar birçok medeniyete kucak açmış olan İznik, Hristiyanlar arasında çıkan anlaşmazlıklara çözüm bulmak için yapılan ilk konsüle de ev sahipliği yaptı. Osmanlı’nın ilk parası Orhan Gazi tarafından 1327’de Bursa’da basıldı. İlk döner kebap 1867’de Bursa’da yapıldı. Anadolu’daki ilk tiyatro olan Ahmet Vefik Paşa Tiyatrosu da(1879), tarihteki ilk ve tek ipekçilik okulu olan “İpekçilik Enstitüsü” de Bursa’da açıldı(1888). İlk diplomatik zafer, bugün yapıldığı yerde hala izlerini taşıyan ve yaşatan Mudanya Mütareke Evi’nde kazanıldı. İlk şehirlerarası yolcu taşımacılığı şirketi (1926 - Kamil Koç), Türkiye’deki ilk kız meslek lisesi (Necatibey Kız Meslek Lisesi), Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nin ilk devlet hastanesi(1952), ilk yün fabrikası (1938 - Bursa Merinos Fabrikası), written document “Kanunname-i İhtisab-ı Bursa”. It not only became the pride of the locals of Bursa but also managed to make itself be accepted globally by entering the UNESCO World Heritage List with its historical and cultural artifacts such as the Historical Market and Inn Region, Sultan Ottoman Social Complex and Cumalıkızık. It managed to be one of the cities with “highest quality of life” in 2016. Bursaspor that carries its colors became the 52nd champion of the Turkcell Supear League in 2010 thus making its hometown proud as well as achieving a phenomenal success. This was a first for both the city and Bursaspor… City of firsts… There are many firsts in Bursa both for the country as well as the world. New firsts are being added today to those that started during the Ottoman Era. For instance, the first hospital of the Ottoman Era, Yıldırım Darüşşifa, built between the years of 1390- 1394 is still the first health facility built in Anatolia. Iznik that has embraced many civilizations from the Byzantine to the Ottomans was also home to the first council established for resolving the conflicts between Christians. The first intercity passenger transportation company (1926 – Kamil Koç), the first vocational school for girls (Necatibey Vocational School for Girls), the first state hospital of the Republic Era (1952), the first wool factory (1938 - Bursa Merinos Factory), the first mountaineering club (Bursa Mountaineering Club), the first washing machine (Tolon), the first industrial region (Bursa Organized Industrial Region), the first festival and national fair organization, the first winter tourism area (Uludağ), the first cable car, the first local bicycle, the first company opened to the public (Bursa Çimento), the first textile congress, the first and only forest museum (Bursa Museum of Forestry), the first ruler factory of Turkey (Hatas), the first newspaper advertisement with a Turkish woman (Keriman Halis) (1932 - İpekiş – Krep Keriman)… Indeed, even the first air pirating incident took place in Bursa. The first hospital museum in the world was opened last year in Inegöl.
