Bu katılımın tek açıklaması yaşanan heyecan… Doğa dostu olması, onu simgelemesi ve gökyüzünün mavisine en güzel arkadaşlardan bir tanesi olması şüphesiz… Uçurtma etkinliklerinin sayısı giderek artıyor. Sadece çocukların değil, büyüklerin de bu etkinliklere yönelik yoğun ilgisi var. Bir de seyri var elbet... Rüzgârın hareketlerini hissetmekten alınan tarifsiz keyfi… Uzaktan bile görseniz, ipinin ucunda eğlenen, hayattan keyif alan birisi olduğu bilirsiniz. Ya da bazıları vardır bagajında bile uçurtma taşır. Canı sıkıldıkça arabaya atlayıp uçurtma uçurmaya giderler. Hepsi uçurtmayı anlatır. Uçurtmanın da bir efsanesi var... Afterwards, it has spread all over Asia by way of merchants travelling to Korea and India from China. Buddhist monks in Japan have used kites to keep evil spirits away and to increase that year’s harvest. There is another story dating back 300 years. It is believed that a thief who wanted to steal the golden statue on the roof of the Nagoya Castle tied himself to a kite. It was Marco Polo who carried these kite stories to Europe. A more interesting side note: A teacher by the name of George Pocock has managed to increase the speed of his carriage up to 20 miles per hour with the help of kites.
