Ölümsüz bir halk kadını

Çocuklu hayali ünlü bir oyuncu olmaktı Eva’nın. Yıllarca bu hayaline giden yolu takip etti. Dönemin Sosyal Güvenlik Bakanı olan Juan Peron ile tanıştığında 24 yaşındaydı. Aynı yıl gerçekleştirdikleri evliliğin ardından Juan Peron eşinin desteğiyle Başbakan olmuş, Eva ise kısa süre içinde Arjantin halkının sevgisini ve güvenini kazanmıştı. O artık halkının koruyucusu ve Arjantin’in “Küçük Eva”sı sevgili “Evita”sıydı. 30’lu yaşlarının başında gelen erken ölümü, onu “ulusun ruhani lideri” kabul eden tüm Arjantin’i derinden sarsmıştı. Hayatı kitaplara, müzikallere, filmlere konu oldu. Onu beyazperdede canlandıran isimlerden biri olan Madonna “Don’t cry for me Argentina” isimli şarkıyı onun anısına besteledi.

Eva Peron

Eva’s childhood dream was to be an actress. She worked towards this goal for many years. She was 24 years old when she met Juan Peron, the Minister of Labor and Social Security. They married in the same year after which Juan Peron was elected as the president thanks to the support of his wife. She was now the protector of the people and the “Little Eva” or “Evita” of Argentina. Her untimely death at the early age of mid-30’s had deeply affected the whole of Argentina where she was accepted as the “spiritual leader of the nation”. Her life was made into books, musicals and movies. Madonna was one of the names who starred as Evita on the white screen and she composed the song “Don’t cry for me Argentina” to her name.
