person with his life philosophy
and his guiding words. He
became the symbol of Jamaica
with his dreadlocks and songs
that turned into anthems. An
ambassador of peace who
managed to introduce his country
and the reggae music to the
world; a music revolutionary
fighting for equality. His anti-
racism and anti-war attitude;
rejecting the power of money
and the classifications of human
beings was reflected in his music.
His songs that came from his
heart and his beliefs hid painful
truths and misery underneath
an up-beat melody. His legacy;
his world-view and his songs,
still provide people with the
motivation they need to “carry
on”.
