Jolie was born in June 1975
to a family of actors in Los
Angeles and experienced her
first unhappiness one year later
when her parents got divorced.
After this breakup she moved to
New York with her mother and
spent her childhood there. She
started her snake and lizard
collection during this period
which she admitted years later.
Jolie states that her love of
cinema stems from the movies
she watched with her mother
and that she was in love with
Mr. Spock in Star Trek; she
also received many complaints
for hurting the boys at school.
When she was 11 she realized
that she wants to be an actress
and so returned to Los Angeles
and signed up at the “Strasberg
Theatre Institute”. After spending
two years here, she started
attending the “Beverly Hills High
School” where she would feel
sad among all the rich kids. She
thought that she looked ugly
with her skinny body and her
glasses and the fact that her
friends at school made fun of her
proved her point. Jolie was living
through a depressive period in
her life and after she failed in
her first modelling experience
she cut her wrists. In later years
she hurt herself several more
times and she had even started
enjoying this as time passed.
She was expelled from school
at the age of 14 and entered
an adolescence period during
which she wore black, dyed her
