John Lennon was an envoy of
love and peace for the whole
world and played an integral
part in the birth of a legend.
In 1956, along with his friend
Pete Shotton, he made duo
performances and in time the
duo turned into a 5-men band
called The Quarrymen. One
year later Lennon met Paul
McCartney, admiring his guitar
technique, he invited him to play
with the band. Down the road,
after George Harrison joined,
the band doing covers and
amateur recordings was formed
of only the three of them; John
Lennon, Paul McCartney, and
George Harrison… The same
year, to follow the fashion, they
changed the name of the band, to
“Johnny & the Moondogs”. When
Lennon’s friend from Liverpool
Art Collage, Stuart Sutcliffe,
joined them, they changed the
name again, to “The Beatals”.
Until finally arriving at the name
“The Beatles” in 1960, they were
called the “The Silver Beetles”
and “The Silver Beatles”. To go
with the flow of the period, they
started using nicknames. After
changing the name of the band
many times, in reference to the
word “beat”, finally, with Lennon’s
recommendation - based on his
