silinmeyen izler bıraktı ve
birçok ilke imza attı. Örneğin ilk
kez 1966 yılında renkli olarak
yayınlanan ödül töreninin yayın
hakkını NBC’nin satın alması
ile 1972 yılından itibaren canlı
olarak yayınlanmaya başladı.
1938 yılında Los Angeles’taki
sel felaketi nedeniyle bir hafta,
1968 yılında Martin Luther
King’e saygı amacıyla ve
1981 yılında Ronald Reagan’a
düzenlenen suikast nedeniyle
bir gün ertelendi. 1929 yılında
“En İyi Aktör” seçilen Emil
Jannings, Oscar ödülleri
tarihine bu ödülü ilk alan aktör
olarak geçti. Oscar heykelciği
verilmeye başladığından beri
farklı şekillere büründüğü
oldu. Örneğin 2. Dünya Savaşı
döneminde ekonomiye katkı
sağlamak amacıyla altın
heykelciğin yapımında ilk
kez plaster kullanıldı. Küçük

3 awards. Jennifer Lawrence
became the 2nd youngest
actress to win “The Best Actress”
Oscar after being nominated 3
times despite her young age.
The cult movie “Silence of the
Lambs” star Jodie Foster holds
the record in this category.
Whereas Anthony Hopkins who
left deep marks in the minds of
the spectators with the Hannibal
Lecter character he played in the
same movie won the “Best Actor”
award with only a few minutes
of performance in this movie.
“Jessica Tandy” became the
oldest actress to win the award
with her role in the movie “Driving
Miss Daisy”. James Dean
became the only person who was
posthumously nominated twice.
The Oscar awards have been
given to give credit to a work of
cinema but it is not given only
to movies and actors/actresses.
The film score composer John
Williams received the award 5
times and was nominated 48
times. Whereas the composer
Ennio Morricone who has
composed unforgettable pieces
did not receive any award despite
his 5 nominations. However, he
was given the “Honor Award”
for his contributions to cinema.
Kathryn Bigelow became the
“first woman director” to receive
the “Best Director” Oscar when
she received the prize in 2010
with the movie “The Hurt Locker”.
The red carpet is definitely
something that first comes up in
our minds when we talk about
the Oscar awards ceremony
which has succeeded in adapting
to the ever changing times…
