internet sitesiyle tüm dünyanın tanıdığı bir isim haline geldi. Binlerce turistin
sevgisini ve ilgisini kazanan İhsan Aknur, dünyanın “en iyi” taksi şoförü olarak
anılıyor. Kendi tanımıyla ise onun işi “hatıralar yaratmak…”
He may be earning his living on the road like many of his colleagues. However, he
has become famous since 1982 with the foreign languages he has learned, the
over 20 books he has written, the TV programs he has attended in international
channels and his interesting web site. İhsan Aknur has earned the love and
attention of thousands of tourists and is known as the “best” taxi driver in the
world. He calls his job “creating memories”…

Yıllar önce bir yandan sevdiği
işi yaparken, diğer yandan
ülkesini dünyaya tanıtmak

dil öğrenmekle yetinmeyerek,

Müşterilerinin daha doğrusu
arkadaşlarının önerisiyle,

best taxi driver) internet sitesi
açan Aknur, kısa süre içinde
tüm dünyanın tanıdığı, sevdiği
ve güvendiği bir taksi şoförü
haline gelmiş. Kendi deyimiyle
tek rakibi ise “Taxi Driver”
filmindeki rolüyle

1953 yılında Ankara’da
doğan İhsan Aknur, 1978
yılında İstanbul’a gelmeden
önce doğduğu şehirde
taksicilik yapmaya başladı.
İstanbul’da bir süre minibüs
şoförlüğü de yaptıktan
sonra, ağabeyinin kullandığı
arabalara duyduğu hayranlık
onu taksi şoförlüğüne teşvik
etti. Babasının, eğitim alması
konusundaki tüm ısrarlarına
rağmen okula devam etmeyip,
bir taksi durağında iş buldu.
18 yaşında ehliyetini alıp, iki
yıl sonra askerlik görevini de
yerine getiren Aknur, askerden
döndükten sonra tamamen
İstanbul’a yerleşti. Hem araba
kullanmaktan hem de turistlere
şehrini, ülkesini tanıtmaktan
mutluluk duyuyordu ama
ona göre büyük bir sorun
vardı. Turistlerin gitmek

it the name that he is known by
(the best taxi driver) after which
he has become a taxi driver that
all the world knows, loves and
trusts. For him, Robert De Niro is
his only rival with his role in “Taxi
Driver”…
İhsan Aknur was born in Ankara
in 1953 and has started working
as a taxi driver in his hometown
before moving to Istanbul in 1978.
After working as a minibus driver
in Istanbul for a while, his love
of cars forced him to take up
taxi driving. Despite his father’s
insistence to make him continue
his education, he quit school and
got a job at a taxi stop. He got
his driver’s license when he was
18, completed his military service
two years later and settled down
in Istanbul afterwards. He was
happy to drive and introduce his
country to others, but for him
there was a problem. He could
not clearly understand where
the tourists wanted to go and
he was unable to tell what he
wanted to tell the tourists about
the historical locations. This
was something that needed to
be resolved immediately and
if Ihsan Aknur has decided on
something, it meant that he
would do it soon. He started an
English course while in the mean
time he practiced talking with
the tourists. He could never get
enough of learning and looking
for ways to do his job better. The
