Are there tips you can
give us about aerial
photography?
There is no end to giving tips;
you gain a new experience with
each new flight.
What is different about
aerial photography in
comparison with classical
photography besides the
fact that you are in the air?
You can be sure that your camera
will break if you drop it. Other
than that there is not much of a
difference. Planning before the
flight will make your life much
easier.
What kind of works did you
do in this field until today?
What did you do? For
instance were you a part of
any special project?
I have over 90 thousand photos
most of which are shot over
Bursa. I took part in many
different projects. The aerial
photos of Bursa I took prior to
2000 are significant documents
now. I had the chance to
document Bursa from the sky
before urbanization became
so intense. The ruins I saw by
chance and photographed last
year while flying over Iznik (Saint
Neopytos) were declared as
one of the 10 most important
discoveries by the American
Institute of Archeology.
Do you have any dreams
or projects you wish to
accomplish in this field?
There are still many places
to fly to and many pictures
to shoot and this field is still
developing. You can now take
such photos on the ground
without flying. You can take aerial
photos by attaching cameras
to small drones you fly via radio
frequency without risking your
lives. However, the two are very
different. The only objective is not
to take photos when flying. My
first priority is to be flying.
