of the Time Lord to eternity.
According to Newman a new
science-fiction series for children
had to be made and this series
had to be very different from
those that had been shot until
today. There was no place for
one eyed monsters or “tin”
robots in this project. Together
with his loyal friends, the Time
Lord who has devoted himself
to goodness would be fighting
its enemies for whom all details
were thought of from their
intelligence to their appearance.
But by using his ability of speech
reflecting his intelligence and his
“sonic” screwdriver instead of
weapons. The “doctor” should
set a good example for children
and therefore could not have
anything to do with weapons.
According to the story written for
him, the travels of Doctor Who
in time started together with the
other time lords when his planet
Galifrey was destroyed. Following
the “Final Great Time War”
between the time lords and their
arch enemies the “Daleks”, the
two species had been destroyed
completely and only the “Doctor”
had managed to stay alive. When
starting out with the space ship
TARDIS that takes its name from
“Time And Relative Dimension In
Space”, he thought that he would
never see the time lords and the
“Daleks” once again. However,
the adventure had only started
and a travel in time of 50 years
for him and an eternity for us
awaited him.
The “Doctor” had a mysterious
name that he had never used
in any episode since 50 years,
but everyone in his planet had
the right to select a name that
suits with their reasons to live.
The Doctor had chosen this
name because it reminded
one of wellness and health
and because he thought that
this name was “cool” as was
frequently mentioned in some
seasons of the series. It was
not important “Who” he was.
He was the “Doctor”; a time
traveler spreading out remedies,
challenging death by deceiving
it. The series broke rating
records when it was aired,
started receiving fan mails to
the studios where it was being
shot and people asked the
