altyapısını oluşturmuş oldu.
Bursa’nın bir köyü olan Çekirge
bir semte dönüşmüş, burada
yapılan yatırımlar özellikle
Cumhuriyet Dönemi’yle birlikte
artmaya başlamıştı. 1931
yılında meclis kararıyla Bursa
Belediyesi tarafından “Kaplıca
Şehri” ilan edilen Bursa en
verimli çağını yaşamaya
başladı.
“Kabul salonu” Çekirge
Çekirge, eskiden beri Bursa’nın
misafir odası, kabul salonu
gibiydi. Hem yurtiçinden hem
yurtdışından kente gelen
herkes burada ağırlanırdı.
Cumhuriyet Dönemi’nde
Atatürk’ün talimatı ile kurulan
ve bugün yoluna Grand Swiss
Belhotel adıyla devam eden
Çelik Palas Otel bunun en öne
çıkan örneğiydi. Adapalas,
Hüsnü Güzel, Boyu Güzel,
Servinaz, Çekirge Palas, Yıldız
Termal, Yeşil Yayla, eskiden
Büyükyıldız olan Berussa,
Karamustafa gibi oteller de
Çekirge’nin namını daha da
arttırdı. Bir diğer Çekirge oteli
olan Dilmen Otel’in binası
ise bugün 1890 yılından beri
hizmet veren Gönlüferah Otel
tarafından Gönlüferah City
adıyla işletiliyor. Bugün Askeri
Hastane’nin olduğu yerde
30’lu yıllarda dört katı ve 80
odasıyla “Hotel Splendide”
bulunuyordu. Kurtuluş Savaşı
boyunca hastane olarak
kullanıldı ve savaşın ardından
hastane olarak hizmet vermeye
devam etti. Bu oteller açıldıkları
dönemin en önemli isimleri;
Bursa’da otelciliğin kilometre
taşlarıydı. Zaman içinde
bir kısmının adı değişti, bir
kısmının içeriği… Döneminin
en çok ziyaretçi akınına
uğrayan kaplıcalarından olan
Yeşil Yayla, Berussa which
was named Büyükyıldız in the
past, Karamustafa increased
the reputation of Çekirge even
more. The building of Dilmen
Hotel which was another Çekirge
hotel is currently being managed
under the name of Gönlüferah
City by Gönlüferah Hotel which
has been providing service
since 1890. “Hotel Splendide”
was located with its four floors
and 80 rooms during the 30’s
at the current location of the
Military Hospital. It was used as
a hospital throughout the War of
Independence and it continued
to be used as a hospital following
the war. These hotels were the
most important names and the
milestones of hotel management
in Bursa back when they had
started giving service. Over
time, the names of some of
these hotels as well as their
content changed… Kervansaray
Thermal Hotel is located at
the place of Eski Kaplıca (Old
Thermal Spring) which was the
most popular spot at the time.
Whereas some hotels that have
been active in Çekirge since the
first years of hotel management
continue their business with
some minor changes, others
lived on under different names
and appearances. Over time,
new hotels started business.
Marigold, Anatolia, Tiara, Huzur,
Atlas and Diyar… Now, the old
and the new coexist in Çekirge.
Uludağ: Favorite of Turkey
Olimpos Hotel that was built
during the mid-1800’s around
Kükürtlü, was one of the first and
most important hotels in bursa.
There were two hotels at Setbaşı
in the beginning of the 1900’s:
Nazlıyan and Galiçya. Hotel
management almost completed
its development while causing
new sectors to develop. Just
like the fact that “skiing tourism”
resulted in the organization of
winter sports activities at Uludağ.
The ski house with a capacity
of 110 beds that was built at the
Uludağ Cennetkaya Region in
1933 was the first of its kind in
Çelik Palas
