Adı orman oldu, güneş içeri girsin diye açtı perdelerini; can kırıkları saçıldı etrafa, ateş oldu yaktı, su oldu taştı
ama o her şeyden önce sadece bir kadındı. Otuz yaşında, hayatın ortasında, küçücük şeylerle mutlu olmanın
peşinde bir kadın… Ayı saklandığı yerden çıkardı, yıllarca yeniden başlamak için beslediği umutları paylaştı
insanlarla; çocukken sahip olduğu kırmızı rugan ayakkabılarını ve düşüncesizce canını yakanları hiç unutmadı.
Şebnem Ferah bugüne dek kendine has tarzıyla rock müziğin kraliçesi oldu.
Her name was forest, she drew the curtains to let the sun shine in; shards of life scattered around, she became the fire
and burned, became the water and flooded but first of all she was only a woman. A woman of thirty years old, in mid-
life, seeking happiness in small things… She took out the moon from its hiding place, shared with others the hopes
that she fed for years to start once again; never forgot the red leather shoes she had when she was a kid and those
who had hurt her. Şebnem Ferah became the queen of rock music with a style of her own.

Yüreğindeki melodilere eşlik
eden sözleriyle, insana her
kaybedişten sonra yeniden
başlama gücü aşılıyor ya da
acımasızca tüm gerçekleri
haykırıveriyor kulağına. Müziğin
dört mevsimi gibi Şebnem
Ferah. Bazen ısıtıyor, bazen
üşütüyor; bazen buzlarla
kaplıyor her yanını insanın,
bazen kanını kaynatıyor. İhtiyaç
duyduğumuz ama kendimize
bile itiraf edemediğimiz tüm
duyguları onun ruhlarımızı
okşayıp, duygularımıza
dokunan sesinde bulabiliyoruz.
İçinde her rengi barındırdığını
hissettirmesine rağmen onu
genelde hep siyahlar içinde
gördük. Oysa küçücük bir
kız çocuğuyken kırmızı
elbiseler içinde şarkılar
söylerdi. Neredeyse her ferdi
müzikle ilgilenen bir ailede
her anı müzikle dolu büyüdü
Şebnem Ferah. Görüntüsü ve
milyonlarca insana sahneden
yansıtmayı başardığı yüksek
enerjisi nedeniyle pek kimse
inanmasa da 1972 doğumlu.
Ailesi Üsküp’ten Yalova’ya
göç ettikten sonra burada
doğan Şebnem Ferah, ilkokul
yıllarında mandolin dersleri
almaya başladı ve liseyi Bursa
Namık Sözeri Lisesi’nde
okudu. Belki de liseyi yatılı
olarak okuması, ona hayatı
daha yakından tanıması ve
tek başına ayakta kalmayı
She sometimes sings songs
full of hope; sometimes makes
the listener question life in
several minutes. She gives
strength to people to start
once again with the words that
accompany the melodies in
her heart or she mercilessly
shouts out the realities of life to
our ears. Şebnem Ferah is like
the four seasons of music. She
sometimes warms, sometimes
makes one tremble and
sometimes stirs one up. We find
in her voice, all the emotions that
we need but cannot confess even
to ourselves.
Even though she makes us feel
the variety of colors inside of
her, we always saw her in black.
But she used to sing in red
dresses as a small girl. Şebnem
Ferah grew up in a family where
almost everyone was interested
in music and she was encircled
with music all the time. Even
though most people find it hard
to believe due to her appearance
and high energy that she is very
successful at reflecting on stage,
she was born in 1972. Şebnem
Ferah has been born here after
her family migrated from Skopje
to Yalova and she has started
taking mandolin classes during
elementary class and she went
on to Bursa Namık Sözeri High
School. It was maybe the fact
that she was a boarding student
during high school that helped
her learn life more closely as well
as learn to stand on her feet. Her
ties with music strengthened
during high school years but
the band “Pegasus” which she
was a part of was not the “girls
group” that she dreamed of. She
was able to make her dream
come true in the mid 80’s when
she founded the all-female band
“Volvox” with the support of Sedat

Yıldırım Sarıca whom she met at
a music studio in Bursa. Even
though the group was ready to
make an album in 1994, they took
stage at many venues until they
disbanded. World famous fashion
designer Arzu Kaprol from
Bursa and Özlem Tekin, another
rebellious female rock singer
were among the members of this
all-female band which became a
popular group in a short amount
of time and started
