music begin
After dinner, the gezek members
find the house they will gather in
with the help of the red lamp on
the door, window or the balcony
of the house they will visit and
take their places in the large
hall that has been organized
for them. Those who will not be
able to participate in the fasıl
are seated at a different section.
Of course, the seat of honor
belongs to the instruments…
Singers responsible from the
order of the night are seated near
the instruments. Rookies and
those who will not take part in the
gezek sit at the very end. People
start chatting, they ask how
everyone is, treats are eaten with
the accompaniment of drinks.
All conversation stops as soon
as the instruments start playing
tunes that touch people’s souls.

The overture to the
predetermined maqam takes the
priority. The overture is followed
by the “Meydan Faslı” during
which songs in this maqam are
plated. The gezek gathering
consists of three stages and this
first stage is when music starts
and different instrumental solos
are played. In the past, traditional
light comedy shows were

bazen de adet üzerine gezek
üyeleri aileleriyle birlikte
pikniklerde, tatillerde kullanılıyor.
