ve güvende olmaları, burayı
evleri gibi görmeleri için her
türlü önlem alınıyor. Örneğin
köydeki elektrik telleri, leyleklerin
zarar görmemesi için kaplandı.
Hatta bir kısmı yeraltına bile
alındı. Arazilerdeki yüksek
gerilim hatlarına fosforlar
takıldı. Gölü temiz tutmak için
de gereken her türlü önlem
alınıyor ki leylekler göle çöplere,
özellikle onların baş düşmanı
olan olan ip ve naylonlara
takılıp havalanmaya çalışırken
yaralanmasınlar. Bu konuda
afiş ve reklam çalışmaları ile
de vatandaşların daha duyarlı
olmaları, bilinçlenmeleri
sağlanmaya çalışılıyor.
Leylekler ve göl civarında
yaşayan halk o kadar iç içe
olmuş ki aynı leylek, önceki
yıllarda gelip ilgi gördüğü birini
yeniden bulabiliyor. Avrupa’nın
11. Leylek Köyü unvanına sahip
Eskikaraağaç’ta halk ve leylekler
yıllardır birbirlerini rahatsız
etmeden bir arada yaşıyor.
Hatta halk leyleklere o kadar
rush has been taking place for 12
years in Eskikaraağaç which was
included in the European Stork
Villages Network in 2011 thanks
to the efforts of the Karacabey
Municipality. Some of the storks
that migrate from the Africa
continent stop here either to raise
their offspring or to rest before
reaching their final destination.
They settle down at the same
place where they built their nest
in the previous year, greet the
visitors who come to see them
and give unforgettable moments
as gifts to the guests of the
festival organized in their honor.
The festival that was organized
during the first days of June
is not only for entertainment
purposes. It is also the result
of the efforts that the locals
of the neighborhood make so
that the storks stay safe and
sound. All kinds of precautions
are taken in Eskikaraağaç in
order to ensure that the storks
are safe, comfortable and that
they consider this place as their
home. For example, the electrical
wires in the village were coated
so that the storks would not get
harmed. Indeed, some were even
taken underground. Phosphorus
objects were attached to the high
voltage lines the region. All kinds
of precautions are also taken in
order to keep the lake clean so
that storks do not get caught up
in trash or ropes and nylons as
they try to take flight. Banners
and advertisement boards are
used to raise the awareness of
the locals about these issues.
