da değil üstelik. Kamberler

Gölgenin renkleri
Bursa’nın en renkli
simgelerinden biri Karagöz
Anıtı… Bugün müze olarak da
hizmet veren Karagöz Evi’nin
tam karşısında selamlıyor
önünden gelip geçenleri.
Kent estetiğine değer katan
belki de ilk eserlerden biri bu
anıt. 1982’de, ünlü heykeltıraş
Tankut Öktem’in kızı Gülsen
Akıncı’nın ellerine bırakıldı
bu ölümsüz eser. Bursa’nın
“Bayan Maviş”i, dönemin Fen
İşleri Müdürü Basri Sönmez
aracılığı ile gelen bu Karagöz
Anıtı fikrinin hayata geçmesi
için hemen çalışmaya başladı.
for Osman Gazi since the statue
that remained in place until that
time did not reflect the heroic
side of the man. Sculptor Eray
Okkan built a 5 meter statue of
Osman Gazi depicting his heroic
side with an image of him as a
beardless young man riding on
a horse. Whereas the old statue
was carried over to the garden
of the Osmangazi Municipality.
The new statue found life thanks
to the guidance of the deceased
historian Halil İnalcık. His helmet
was the result of an inspiration
from the Orhan Gazi helmet on
display at the İstanbul Harbiye
Museum. Now, two different
statues greet the locals of Bursa
one depicting the wisdom and
justice, the other depicting
the courage and heroism of
Osmancık, Osman Bey, Osman
Gazi.
What remains from a
“crazy” love
Crazy Ayten was an unsung hero
hidden amidst the childhood
memories of today’s adults in
Bursa. She became someone
whose legend was spread
around and who is known even
by today’s children thanks to her
name that is still kept alive. The
famous photograph by Nihat
Küçük became the inspiration
for the Crazy Ayten statue
erected at the Kamberler Park
in 2009. Ayten Şenaşık who is
remembered with her cümbüş
left to her by her Hasan, with
her drum on her shoulder, her
bags hanging down her arms,
she became someone that even
people who have never seen
her have known for quite some
time. Ayten Şenaşık became
immortal at Kamberler where
she spent her whole life. Thus,
the Crazy Ayten of Bursa keeps
on telling about her love, her
Cümbüş Hasan to all passersby
and to share her grief with them.
Furthermore, Ayten is no longer
alone. She looks after her city
at Kamberler Park together with
other statues erected to keep the
values of Bursa alive…
Colors of shadow
Karagöz Monument is perhaps
the most colorful symbols in
Bursa… It greets passersby from
right across the Karagöz House
that serves as a museum today.
This monument is perhaps one
