Çikolata; “o”na sevdiğinizi
söylemenin en “tatlı” şekli...
Birinin gönlünü almak,
kendinizi şımartmak, mutlu
olmak ve mutlu etmek
için desteğinizi sizden
esirgemeyen en “lezzetli”
yardımcınız. Dumanı tüten bir
fincanın içinde, yoğun kakao
aromalı, bol sütlü, çilekli,
kurabiyeli... Siz mutluluğunuzu
nasıl alırdınız?
Bazen parlak bir paketin
bazen de avuçlarınızı ısıtan bir
fincanın içinde buluşursunuz
onunla. Her parçasında
mutluluğun sırlarını gizler ve en
ihtiyacınız olduğu anlarda bu
mutluluğu sizinle paylaşır. Belki
bu sır uzun bir liste oluşturacak
birçok yiyecekte gizli ama
çikolata, “Tanrıların Besini”
olarak anıldığı ilk çağlardan
bu yana o listenin en başında.
Yorgun bir günün sonunda,
canımızın en sıkkın olduğu
anda, işlerden, sınavlardan
hatta bazen insanlardan
bunalıp kendimizi şımartmak
ya da ödüllendirmek
istediğimiz zamanlarda bir
parça çikolatayla tüm enerjimiz
yerine gelir. Hayatın yediğimiz
o çikolata kadar tatlı ve
lezzetli olmasını umut ederiz.
İnsanın hayatı boyunca aradığı
mutluluğu bir parça çikolatada
Chocolate; the “sweetest” way of
saying you love that “significant
other”… Your “tasty” associate
when you want to please
someone, spoil yourself, to be
happy or to make someone
else happy. Inside a steaming
hot cup, with a thick cocoa
aroma, lots of milk, strawberry
or cookies… How would you like
your happiness served?
You meet it sometimes inside
a bright package or a cup that
warms your palms. It hides the
secrets of happiness and shares
them all with you whenever you
need. Maybe this list is hidden
in many other foods as well, but
chocolate has been topping that
list since the day it was called
“The Food of the Gods”. A piece
of chocolate gives us the energy
we need when we want to spoil
or reward ourselves after a tiring
day when we are bored and sick
of our job, exams or sometimes
even the people around us. We
hope that our life becomes as
sweet and tasty as the chocolate
we are eating. Of course it is
not possible for one to find the
happiness they seek in a piece
of chocolate, but at least it is
enough to make us feel better
and more energetic even if for a
brief period of time.
All you need is love. But
a little chocolate now and
then doesn’t hurt.
Charles Bukowski
People have been harping
on about the happiness that
chocolates give for so long
that this has now become a
psychological issue. However,
the happiness that chocolates
provide is not only psychological
but physical as well. It activates
the happiness hormone called
serotonin as soon as it is eaten
and thus chocolates relax those
who eat it. The value given to
chocolate since the time of
the Mayans has attracted the
attention of scientists as well
and it has been concluded as
a result of the studies carried
out that cocoa, the raw material
of chocolate, is quite rich in
terms of antioxidants. Thus, it is
also beneficial to the heart and
prevents cerebral hemorrhage.
Cacao was the “Food of the
Gods” for Mayans, the ancient
locals of South America and its
raw material was also discovered
by Mayans at the Guyana border.
Chocolate was accepted as a
