sevgi ve saygıyla anımsayan,
özleyen insanlarla dolu bir şehir
bıraktı. 2015’in Aziz Nesin’in
100 yaşına girdiği yıl olması
nedeniyle Nilüfer Belediyesi
tarafından “Aziz Nesin Yılı” ilan
edildi. Bursalılar tüm bir yıl
boyunca onun kentte bıraktığı
izleri sürdü. Adına resim,
fotoğraf, karikatür sergileri
düzenlendi. Onunla tanışma,
konuşma fırsatı bulan isimlerin
davet edildiği sempozyumlar,
söyleşiler yapıldı. Yaşı yeten
yetmeyen herkesin ilgisiyle
karşılaşan etkinliklerde Aziz
Nesin’li anılar konuşuldu,
bu anılara sahip insanlarla
sohbetler edildi. Onun Bursa
günlerini kitaplaştıran Fehmi
Enginalp de bu insanlardan
biriydi.

that have been published”.
New books were added after
his passing to the collection of
more than 100 books. Nesin
Association collected his writing
to publish about 10-15 more
books in his name. Aziz Nesin
had willed his dead body to be
donated to the State Hospital
for use in studies by the
students enrolled at the faculty
of medicine. He had wanted his
dead body to be beneficial for
other people just like the struggle
he gave to be beneficial during
his life time. He spent his life
striving for a happy world and a
brighter future. He tried to pass
on the hope he carried within
him to the young people he
educated. He also left behind a
“Last Will of Education” to those
young people.
To Aziz Nesin’s “Children of
the Association”...
He had actually intended to write
down this will on the year when
the association was founded but
he did not have the opportunity
for this and the will could be
published only after a 10 year
hiatus. His objective and line of
thought was clear. If he was not
going to succeed in putting to
life the education he dreamed for
his own country and the planet to
which he was striving to provide
a happier future, he would make
his own rules that he believed
in and dreamed about for his
association. Here are some of
the items from the “Last Will
of Education” by Nesin which
includes his opinions on and
suggestions for education:
•There are no prohibitions at the
Nesin Association.
•I want my children of the
Association to be raised without
any punishment.
•Children of the Nesin
Association should learn what
their social debts are.
•I want my children of the Nesin
Association to work in jobs they
love when they become adults.
•I strive to ensure that my
children of the Nesin Association
are free in their thoughts and
actions.
The “man who outgrew his
life” in Bursa
Aziz Nesin visited Bursa many
times starting from the 80’s
until his final days which today
declared him as the “author of
the year”. He visited the friends
he met here, he participated in
signings; he appeared as guest
at various events and lectures.
He met many writers, reporters
and teachers from Bursa; he
visited those he had met during
his years of exile. He left behind
a city who remembered him with
love and respect every time he
left the city. The year of 2015
was declared as “Aziz Nesin
Year” by the Nilüfer Municipality
since it was the 100th birth year
of Aziz Nesin. For a whole year,
the locals of Bursa followed
the traces he left in the city.
Painting, photography, caricature
exhibits took place in his name.
Symposiums and meetings were
organized to which people who
were fortunate enough to have
met him were invited. Memories
full of Aziz Nesin were discussed
in these activities which were
met with great joy by the young
and old; people talked with those
who have such memories. Fehmi
Enginalp who wrote a book on
his days of Bursa was one of
these people.
