not many people come and find
me. I usually see foreign news
about myself. This is the sad
part. Because I have so many
things to tell if only one would
ask. Other nations and countries
have laid claim to many things
that have sprang forth from our
lands. I don’t want the same
thing to happen to this art as
well. As I mentioned at the start, I
do not care about being popular,
I just want people to know that
the origin of this art is Turkey, that
micro-art is a Turkish art form.
What do you do to spread
the word about micro-art
and to make more people
learn about it? For example,
do you give lessons?
I am also a jewelry designer
and I give lessons in this field,
but there is no one I can teach
micro-art to. Because I do not
see enough patience and interest
in the people around me. The
youth of this day and age are
very impatient and their common
ground is to earn more money.
Such long lasting things that
require patience, love and toil
are not preferred by them. There
are some who are interested
to become popular, but this is
not enough. Actually they might
put forth works that are much
better than mine, but they have
to see this as an occupation. An
occupation that forces them to
take earning money out of their
focus. There has to be some
people who do not earn money
or who can take such risks so
that these kinds of art forms can
blossom.
So, even thinking about
such a form of art can be
considered extraordinary.
Can we say that micro-art
and art in general has some
“madness” in them?
I believe that all art works include
milletler tarafından sahiplenildi.
Bu sanat da öyle olsun
istemiyorum. Baştan da
söylediğim gibi derdim ismim
değil, bir Türk sanatçı olarak
emek verdiğim bu sanatın
anavatanının Türkiye olduğu,
mikro sanatın bir Türk sanatı
olduğu bilinsin.
Mikro sanatı yaymak,
daha çok kişiye
ulaştırmak için neler
yapıyorsunuz? Örneğin
ders veriyor musunuz?
Aynı zamanda mücevher
tasarımcısıyım bu alanda ders
veriyorum ama mikro sanat
konusunda ders verebileceğim
kimse yok. Yeterince sabırlı ve
hevesli kimseyi görmüyorum
çünkü etrafımda. Şimdiki
gençler hem sabırsız hem
odak noktaları para kazanmak.
Böyle uzun soluklu, sabır, aşk,
emek gerektiren bir sanat
herkesin tercih edebileceği bir
şey değil. Çevresinde popüler
olmak için ilgi duyanlar, merak
saranlar olabiliyor ama bu
yeterli olmuyor. Oysa benden
çok daha iyilerini yapabilirler
ama meslek olarak görmeleri
gerekiyor. Para kazanmayı
odaklarından çıkarmaları
gereken bir meslek. Birileri
para kazanmayacak, bir
şeyleri göze alabilecek ki böyle
sanatlar ortaya çıkabilecek.
O halde böyle bir sanatı
yalnızca düşünmüş olmak
bile sıra dışı bir durum
sayılabilir. Bu yönüyle
mikro sanatın ve genel
olarak sanatın içinde
biraz “delilik” olduğunu
söyleyebilir miyiz?

my goals. To open up new windows to life and
create different perspectives to everything that is
known to exist but has been overlooked. To create
capsules of art using “trash”.
